Stephanie Goldman-Juror&Demonstrator

2018 San Diego Watercolor Society
In Spring of March 2018, I had the pleasure of jurying the members exhibition for the San Diego Watercolor Society. The members that exhibit their work are some of the best watermedia artists in San Diego County. The decision of which pieces to include from so many entries is a difficult one. It takes hours to choose a show with such wide ranging talent. I hope that those who see the show are as delighted with the work they see as I was. Congratulations to all even to those who entered and were not selected this time. Opening Reception, March 2nd, 5:00-8:00 pm.

2014 San Diego Diversity Cross Cultural Show
In Spring of May, 2014 I had the distinct pleasure of jurying the Diversity Cross Cultural Exhibition at the San Diego Watercolor Society. This watercolor organization is one of the best run volunteer organizations I have had the pleasure of working with. Their volunteers could give workshops on the exuberance and rewards of volunteerism, especially when it is in the service of your passions.

Fallbrook Art Association-
2013 Spring Open Juried Show

Fallbrook 2013 Open Juried Show

Artists and the local art community rarely, if ever, get to see the breadth of artistic endeavors entered into an exhibition. Since the Fallbrook Art Center had the space to hang every piece, I jumped at the opportunity to include all of the artwork submitted. This is a chance for artists, aspiring “ wanna be’s”, teachers, admirers and connoisseurs at every level, to learn, grow, see, and appreciate the talent, creativity, challenges and successes, of fellow artists along the path of artistic development and maturation.
When giving awards, I was looking for work where I felt that the artist most completely expressed their passion, idea, or intention. My personal taste in art is very eclectic and the pieces I chose reflect this, with their variety of styles, media and artistic expression. The process of jurying an art show is a completely subjective one, especially when the juror is given visual and contextual freedom. With that in mind, every person viewing this show can pick and choose from all the work exhibited, their own favorites and winners.
A quick note to artists regarding framing for a juried/ gallery show: unless otherwise specified in the prospectus, it is best to use simple, uncomplicated, contemporary framing for a presentation, that lets your ART shine. Choose a frame that will look good alongside other art works and leave the “home”, or “baroque” style framing for personal spaces.
I would like to thank all of the helpers and staff of the Fallbrook Art Association for the wonderful experience to jury and meet their art community.

Coal Art Gallery-JUROR & DEMONSTRATION-Carlsbad
Stephanie Goldman, Demonstrator - April 2011

The Coal Art Gallery in Carlsbad, California invited me to Jury their monthly art show and give a painting demonstration at the Calavera Hills Community Center for their members. The gallery is located in a very beautiful and friendly part of Carlsbad not far from the beach and promenade. They have a lot of talented artists and the gallery is phenomenally well organized and staffed. Their artists turn out a very warm reception and ask many good and in-depth questions. It was a pleasure to meet them and a real honor to be invited as Juror and Demonstrator for the month of April. Thank you Karen Crowell for the invitation and beautiful lunch.
