The Librarian Oil on Canvas 54x48" |
I painted
The Librarian as an homage to today's liberated woman. She is free
from eyes that demand demure chastity and is undeterred by modern society's image
of a perfect body. She sits comfortably on a stool,
enshrined in a pink diaphanous light emphasizing her sensual nature that
exudes femininity. Gazing upwards toward the light she is connected to eternal strength and confidence to endure the harsh realities of life.
My inspiration for
The Librarian is the centuries old
Venus of Willendorf
and
Ingres "Valpincon Bather",
